Permanent Single-Line-to-Ground Fault Removal Method for Ferro-Resonance Avoidance in Neutral Ungrounded Distribution Network

In the neutral ungrounded distribution network, removal of permanent single-line-to-ground (SLG) fault easily leads to saturation electromagnetic voltage transformers (PT), which may cause ferroresonance overvoltage and PT failure. This paper analyzes zero-sequence after SLG reveals mechanism excited by fault. Then, total power transient energy circuit under is analyzed. It then observed that reaches minimum value at zero-cross point (ZCP) voltage. Based on this, a method avoid proposed, uses ZCP as instant. Simulations in ATP-EMTP show proposed can effectively subharmonic mode. also enhance suppression performance resistor fundamental-frequency high-frequency conditions.
